Yep, Google is not well known for amazing customer service which may translate into GCP, not sure.
And no, have never worked for Google or gotten a penny from them (and I do realize that this rant of mine is probably the best piece of GCP advertisement they have and worth thousands of dollars because it is one of the top results when you google gcp vs aws and has had over 100K views - I wish they paid me for it!!) and I doubt I would ever be able to work for them even if I wanted to because they are a bit snobby with their university degree requirements (which I don't have).
I don't love everything about Google or gain anything by promoting them, I just give credit where its due - it is the better designed product.
I do agree with you that their UI is quite heavy on the javascript and the loading time is far longer than the ugly AWS UI. But conversely is also far more intuitive and easier to use.
It would have been interesting to see what you would think if you had started using both products in parallel, I honestly can't understand why anyone would prefer AWS design to GCP, I can understand other gripes about it, but not the design part.
Either way, you should use what you are happy with, so if you prefer AWS, then go for it!
